ASMP et al. v. Google


Mishcon de Reya New York LLP has filed a Class Action Suit Against Google Inc.

The lawsuit, filed on April 7, stems from Google's reproduction, display, and distribution of images published in book and periodicals as part of Google's Library, Periodical, and Partner projects. Google has done so without the necessary permissions of the images' exclusive rights holders. The suit is on behalf of the class of photographers, illustrators, and other visual artists whose work has appeared in books and periodicals. Lead Plaintiffs in the action include the American Society of Media Photographers, Graphic Artists Guild, Picture Archive Council of America, North American Nature Photography Association, Professional Photographers of America, Leif Skoogfors, Al Satterwhite, Morton Beebe, Ed Kashi, John Schmelzer and Simms Taback.
