2010

Mishcon de Reya opens its first international office in New York

Mishcon de Reya wins Innovation in Law Firm Brands at the 2010 Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Awards.

For the third year running, Mishcon de Reya is one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For. The Firm saw a massive climb up the table of 21 places over the last 12 months - landing firmly in the top 50 companies to work for in the UK.

Mishcon de Reya launches The Entrepreneurship Report in partnership with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Luke Johnson is the speaker at the launch event.

The Firm teams up with luxury lifestyle group Quintessentially to offer clients a global concierge service.

Mishcon de Reya launches LawfullyChic, a blog for art-lovers and adventurers, fashionistas and culture vultures, who believe in fair play, fair trade and fair travel.

2009

Melissa Lesson, Partner, is named Family Lawyer of the Year at the third annual Spear's Wealth Management Awards.

Sandra Davis, Head of Mishcon de Reya's Family Group, becomes a member of The Times Law Panel.

Mishcon de Reya named Family/Divorce Firm of the Year at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards ceremony.

2008

Mishcon de Reya is listed in The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For.

The Firm launches the specialist ‘Pink Law’ Legal Advice Centre in conjunction with Queen Mary, University of London and two other city law firms. The project offers free and impartial legal advice on issues affecting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, such as employment discrimination, civil partnerships and cohabitation.

The Family Department receive the accolade of Firm of the Year at the Spears Wealth Management Survey Awards Ceremony.

2007

The Employment Group win the Employment Team of the Year award at the annual Lawyer Awards ceremony and Hazel Donaldson is named Assistant Solicitor of the Year.

2006

In January Lord Mishcon passes away aged 90. Prime Minister Tony Blair leads the tributes.

2002

Lord Mishcon officially opens the Firm's new offices at Summit House, Red Lion Square.

2001

The Firm represent Professor Deborah Lipstadt in her successful defence of David Irving's claim that he had been libelled in her book ‘Denying the Holocaust’. The Lord Justices agree that Irving was “one of the most dangerous spokespersons for Holocaust denial.”

1997

The Firm develops niche expertise in fields such as design law and employment and goes live with its first website.

1996

Anthony Julius represents Diana, Princess of Wales in her divorce. He is also instrumental in forming The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund after her death.

1995

The Firm’s Real Estate department doubles in size with the joining of substantial teams from Brecher Co and Rabin Leacock Lipman.

1994

A large team from Bayer Rosin joins that includes many commercial lawyers as well as current Managing Partner Kevin Gold and Martin Bayer, who was honoured by Nelson Mandela as a "Veteran of the Struggle" for his lifelong campaign against apartheid.

1992

The Firm grows to 120 staff and move into new premises at 21 Southampton Row. The Special Investigations and Fraud Unit is formed and John Jackson is appointed as non-executive chairman.

1988

Victor Mishcon & Co merge with part of Bartletts de Reya to form Mishcon de Reya. The new firm employs 80 staff.

1961

A second office opens at 125 High Holborn with 15 employees.

1937

Victor Mishcon founded Victor Mishcon & Co - a one man office in Brixton, London.
